Botox

Botox is a popular non-surgical treatment used to soften the appearance of facial lines created by repeated muscle movement. It can help the face look fresher and more relaxed while still preserving natural expression.

Every face moves differently, so treatment should never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. The aim is not to create a frozen appearance, but to carefully reduce selected muscle activity and achieve a subtle, balanced result.

What can Botox help with?

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • A tired or tense-looking expression
  • Preventing some movement-related lines from becoming more noticeable

How does Botox work?

Botox is a brand name commonly used to describe treatments containing botulinum toxin. The treatment temporarily reduces the signals between selected nerves and muscles, allowing the targeted muscles to relax.

As the muscle movement is reduced, the skin above it can appear smoother and existing expression lines may become less noticeable.

What happens during treatment?

Your appointment begins with a consultation and facial assessment. You will be asked about your desired result, medical history and any previous cosmetic treatments.

Small amounts of the prescribed product are then carefully placed into selected facial muscles using a fine needle. Treatment is usually completed quickly, although the exact number and location of injections will depend on your individual facial movement and treatment plan.

When will I see the results?

The effects are not immediate. You may begin to notice a difference within several days, with the full result generally becoming clearer over the following two weeks.

A review appointment may be recommended once the treatment has had time to settle.

How long do the results last?

Results are temporary and vary between individuals. Factors such as your metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area and previous treatments can all affect how long the result lasts.

As the effects gradually wear off, normal muscle movement returns and lines may slowly become more noticeable again.

Is Botox safe?

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine and should only be used following a proper consultation with an appropriately qualified prescriber. Your suitability, expected results, possible side effects and aftercare should all be discussed before treatment.

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or headache can occur. Less common complications are also possible, which is why careful assessment, accurate placement and appropriate follow-up are important.

Natural results tailored to your face

Good Botox should not completely change the way you look. The goal is to soften selected lines, maintain natural facial movement and help you appear more refreshed rather than noticeably treated.
